A terrible fire ravaged the museum ship “ Cutty Sark ”, a 19th century clipper in dry dock in Greenwich, on the outskirts of London, where it has been a tourist attraction since 1954.
The upper deck in particular was completely destroyed by the flames, but the lower part of the ship seems to have been partially preserved.
The Cutty Sark , on display in a dry dock in Greenwich , south-east London, was undergoing restoration and was due to be reopened to the public in 2009.
